‘Xbox Loop’ next year — rumor

Microsoft is to release a new console in late 2013, rumors have it, but it’s not a next-gen machine. Instead, a stripped down, ARM-based version of the Xbox 360 is expected.
The hardware is said to focus on Arcade-style games and Kinect apps, and will be priced to compete with Apple TV, which goes for around $100 these days.
The same rumor also suggests that the “true successor” to the 360 will ship afterwards, with the next generation Kinect expected around 2015.
Microsoft on its part has offered Gamespot up the expected party line: “Xbox 360 has found new ways to extend its lifecycle like introducing the world to controller-free experiences with Kinect and re-inventing the console with a new dashboard and new entertainment content partnerships. We are always thinking about what is next for our platform and how to continue to defy the lifecycle convention. Beyond that we do not comment on rumors or speculation.”
