SimCity to require constant Origin connectivity
Here’s something that’ll go over well; EA’s upcoming SimCity will require players to have constant connectivity to its Origin platform.
While the game will be sold on other download services when it launches sometime in 2013, players won’t be able to escape Origin as it is an ‘internet-dependent experience’, according to lead designer Stone Librande. Speaking with Joystiq, Librande says it’s a necessity due to players’ impact on the game’s global economy.
SimCity was announced earlier in the month. Grab some more details and a trailer here.
